Happy Pride Month, Bezos’ Space Gilligan, Federal Fritter, Captain Obvious Is Feeling Better
Jeff Bezos will be flying to space on July 20 making him the first billionaire to go to space. The rocket ship made by Bezos’ company Blue Origin has passengers to include younger brother, Mark Bezos.
The Duchess of Sussex gave birth to a daughter named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on June 4, Lilibet is a nickname for Queen Elizabeth and Diana is of course after her late grandmother. LilibetDiana.com is already purchased and there is much speculation of who will be her Godparents. Oprah? Tyler Perry? A photo is yet to be released, known as Lili she will be the 8th inline to the throne.
Local DC sports icon Captain Obvious is feeling much better after spending over 2 months in the hospital recovering from Covid. He posted on his Instagram and his family and close friends were able to visit him as he continues to recover in the ICCU.
The Nationals had a rough game in Philly on Sunday. The home plate umpire left the game after being hit with a ball to the face and the next inning starting pitcher Austin Voth was also hit in the face and broke his nose. As the game was delayed already twice with injuries, the home plate protective netting collapsed in the 8th, delaying the game yet again until the netting was placed back up.
Naomi Osaka's decision to leave the French Open last week was supported by Sweetgreen. Sweetgreen salad company was founded by Georgetown students over a decade ago and recently signed Osaka with an endorsement deal.
New restaurants are opening up everywhere. Latest opening is Caruso Grocery on Capitol Hill and DC restaurant Equinox founders Todd and Ellen Gray opened up in Rehoboth Beach their new restaurant Federal Fritter.
