Memorial Day Weekend Will Be A Big One and Britney Spears and Shakespeare Are Collaborating
Happy Memorial Day Weekend, today is Friday, May 28.
If you are traveling this weekend you are one of 37 million according to AAA. Also happening this weekend a group of volunteers are heading to Arlington National Cemetery on Monday to honor the fallen. It all started virtually last year by Capitol Hill staffer Emily Domenech to help those that cannot visit loved ones’ markers. Families can submit names for a visit and she will say their names out loud.
Whoops, New Era, official cap supplier of Major League Baseball, released a line of “Local Market” caps with city-specific designs for every club that include local shout out like area codes, local landmarks and cuisines. It didn't go over well with fans especially on Twitter as it did not accurately reflect each market and the hats were pulled.
The Maryland lottery announced a winner worth $731.1 million sold at Coney Market in Lonaconing, MD. The winners calling themselves the "Power Pack" chose the $546.8 million lump cash sum option and chose to stay anonymous.
The world’s first museum dedicated to mermaids opened this spring in the small Maryland town, which is about 10 miles from Ocean City. In other museum news the Smithsonian announced a list of reopening dates for 10 of their museums, with all to be reopened by the end of August.

According to the Washington Post there's a new Shakespeare musical coming to DC. “ Broadway producers and the Shakespeare Theatre Company have joined forces for the world premiere this fall of an unlikely show: “Once Upon a One More Time,” a fractured fairy-tale musical built around the songbook of Britney Spears”
