Nothing Stops Mr V’s Lunch Bunch
We're celebrating another awesome teacher on the Tommy + Kelly #TeacherTour. Mr. V is keeping the Lunch Bunch going, virtually at Rolling Valley Elementary (Go Rockin' Robins) and provides a bit of excitement with his impromptu penpal program.
Here’s part of the entry from Seamus a Rolling Valley parent about this awesome educator.
“Once school got shut down in March, my daughter was devastated. She wrote Mr. V a letter to let him know how much she missed him — and he wrote back! Now they are weekly pen pals, even though she’s moved on to first grade. When Mr. V found out my daughter’s best friend had moved to a different school, he set up a virtual lunch bunch so the three of them could bond again. A Kindergarten special ed teacher gave up his lunch break so two first graders that he didn’t teach anymore, one of whom was in a different part of the state, could giggle together again. Mr. V deserves a monument, but a prize pack would be a good start!”
