The Georgetown Transformers Are Multiplying! Dr Howard The Man Behind The Robots Shares The Latest.

Dr. Newton Howard is the brain scientist and machine enthusiast at the center of a contentious battle with his Georgetown neighbors.  The scuffle centers around two life size Transformers, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, placed in front of his Prospect Street house. Neighbors complained and the ANC (neighborhood commission) tried to get them removed using a property lines violation and claiming they devalued the historic district.

“When you come visit them, I assure you they will be there.”
— Dr Newton Howard

The giant robots are just a few blocks from Georgetown University, where he is a professor in computational neurology and functional neurosurgery. People from all over the region have come to see the statues. The joy it brings to children is one of Dr. Howard’s favorite things he shared on the Tommy + Kelly Show.

Dr. Howard is not giving up.  The Transformers are multiplying. According to the brain scientist, we can expect to see up to sixteen Transformers throughout the region in other neighborhoods.   Dr. Howard told Tommy, Kelly and Courtney that he owns several companies in the defense contract space and his teams make them from spare parts that would otherwise be scrapped.  Total Tony Stark vibes! The Georgetown robot enthusiast assured us his work is on defensive, not offensive equipment. Dr. Howard’s main motivation is to share modern art and how machines and humans can work in tandem to make a better world.

One of the locations just might be right down the street from his home at Cafe Milano and the Four Seasons in Georgetown.
We also learned that early in the dispute Dr Howard tried to be a friendly neighbor by offering wine and discussion on how to resolve the conflict. He continues to be not welcomed by a few of his neighbors.
