Juneteenth Becoming A Federal Holiday, DC’s Most Complete Black Owned Restaurant Guide, Mackenzie Scott Drops Billions For Good, Bye Cicadas

The House voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to make Juneteenth a national federal holiday, President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bill into law Thursday afternoon.

Food Explorer, Blogger and Influencer, Anela Malik known as @FeedtheMalik, joins us to talk about her new food guide for Black-owned restaurants in the DC area.

Captain, the Washington Capitals service dog in training, has been selected for duty. According to Captain’s Twitter, “everyone meet retired U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. MARK, he suffers from PTSD and seizures and from now on i'll be right by his side to help him get through it -- i’ve been training all my life for this moment !!”

Earlier in the week Mackenzie Scott (Bezos) announced she has given away 2.7 billion to 238 charities. Washingtonian Magazine identified the 38 DC-area charities that received money from this incredible donation
