Maya Angelou and Sally Ride to be the first Women on the Quarter
Poet Maya Angelou and astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly in space, are the first women to appear on a series of quarters to be issued by the U.S. Mint beginning in January.
They will be on the "tail" side of the coins, as part of a the American Women Quarters Program. George Washington will remain on the front.
