Ice Cream Champion Nod to Maryland, Look Out For Army Worms, Foo Fighters Back in DC
Rabia Kamara, a Silver Spring native won the grand prize on the Food Network show “Ben & Jerry’s Clash of the Cones.” Ice cream “masters” competed for a $20,000 prize and a spot in a Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop. Kamara explained to the Bethesda Magazine that her flavor was meant to represent her identity, both as a person of color and as a Marylander.
Traffic on the Bay and Key bridges in Maryland will be held temporarily in both directions Thursday so that ships can ferry four large construction cranes. Note that this is not the Key Bridge DC, the other Key bridge in Maryland.
The Army Worm is in the DC area, caterpillar infestation is destroying lawns. One of the reasons has to do with weather patterns. With the hurricanes it is believed they have traveled hundreds of miles via the jet stream.
